3. Worship of the ‘image’

The trace in Scripture that leads to the worship of the ‘image’ of the beast:
HCSB (Revelation 13:14-15) 14 … telling those who live on the earth to make an image of the beast who had the sword wound yet lived. 15 ….so that the image of the beast could bothspeak and cause whoever would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

In the previous article we talked about the idolatry in Israel and Judah and about the little horn (or king) who had eyes and a mouth speaking pompous words. According to Daniel 11:21 a despicable king will arise; “And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue.”
The false prophet will not be a real king of the last world power, the US, but will have (kingdom) power.

The theme of this writing is; Islam, the antichrist or false prophet and the exodus from Egypt.

In the previous article we talked about the great Babylon, a real city, and that NEOM is situated exactly on the old Midian, with Mount Sinai. What the objectives of NEOM are and which people already have been attracted and approached.

According to Peter Phillips (professor of Sociology, Ph.D., University of California), the result of influential think tanks, NGO’s and organizations is, that they translate the agenda of the richest 1% into policy, which is then implemented by governments.
In his view, we must think of powerful fund managers like BlackRock and the Vanguard Group, which you will encounter as a shareholder in almost all large companies and the military industrial complex.

In fact, in this way the US has become a plutocracy, a form of government in which the richest are in power and can determine the legislation for large groups within society.
NEOM also has very large investments and there are many large parties that want to invest in there.
NEOM, the great Babylon, will be fully in the media’s attention in the coming period.

NKJV (Jeremiah 51: 12, 13) 12 Set up the standard on the walls of Babylon; Make the guard strong, Set up the watchmen, Prepare the ambushes. For the Lord has both devised and done What He spoke against the inhabitants of Babylon. 13 O you who dwell by many waters, Abundant in treasures, Your end has come, The measure of your covetousness.

The inhabitants of ancient Babylon, according to Jeremiah, were rich in treasures and had a great deal of covetousness.
In the new great Babylon, the multi-billionaires are also rich in treasures and capital and they also have a great deal of covetousness.

The theme of this writing is the characteristics of the false prophet regarding NEOM, about Jesus’ statements about these and about the further biblical prophecies that relate to these.

In the previous article we talked about Islam, with Mohammed in the line of Ishmael, all information concerning the false prophet and Mount Sinai in Arabia.
Paul wrote that Jesus was with the Israelites during the Exodus:

NKJV (1 Corinthians 10: 1-4) 1 Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, 2 all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, 3 all ate the same spiritual food, 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

According to Paul, it was Jesus who followed them and supported them. After their salvation, the Israelites had the manna, the bread that came from heaven and they drank from the rock at Horeb.
But they received spiritual food and spiritual drink through all the wonderful blessings that came to them, such as the protection, salvation, care and joy to belong to God’s people. Their faith was thereby strengthened in their God (YHWH), it was their spiritual food, or as Jesus once said:

NKJV (John 4:34) 34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

The theme of this writing is the great Babylon, a real city.

In the previous article, we spoke about the idolatry in the first Christian communities.
Jesus warned of idolatry in the Pergamus community which was a reflection of the history of Balaam and Balak, king of Moab, to deceive the people of Israel in those days.
Jesus also warned of idolatry in the community of Thyatira as a reflection of Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab of the northern ten-tribe kingdom of Israel. Jezebel was at that time an unscrupulous worshiper and prophetess of Baal and Astarte, and who imposed the worship of these in Israel.

How did history go on with the northern ten-tribe kingdom of Israel and with the house of Jehu, king of Israel?

The theme of this writing is; idolatry and the exile of Samaria, followed by the exile of Judah and the visions in exile of Daniel.

If only I do not suffer from it!
Many people in the world are apathetic about the problems around them and are far too busy with their work, sport, obligations and pleasures.
They are therefore poorly informed in what time we live, a time foretold in Scripture.
Reading and studying the Scripture is vital for Christians in this time period.
Jesus encouraged his disciples to continue to believe in His word, the truth. God’s word (as well as Jesus word) is written down in the under inspiration written Bible:

NKJV (John 8: 31, 32) 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Jesus thinks it is wise to actually do His words:

NKJV (Matthew 7: 24-27) 24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

In this series of articles we want to give a clear insight concerning the idolatry by God’s people and what ultimately involves the worship of the ‘image’ (Rev. 13: 14-15).
A number of subjects are partly described in previous articles, but with new insights about the false prophet in the end times. It contains amazing news!
But it remains good to carefully examine whether the described things are really so.
Everyone is invited to place a ‘comment’ with the intention to give your opinion or to make the articles more complete.
