A description of the glory of the Son of Man, in preparation for the memorial.

The Son of Man, a special title for a divine Person
(Daniel 7: 13-14) 13 I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him. 14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed.

Just before Stephen was stoned, he saw the glorified Jesus at the right hand of God:

(Acts 7: 55) 55 But he (Stephen), being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God,….

The Son of Man has received the unique power, to forgive sins:

(Matthew 9: 6) 6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins–then He said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”

Also, the Son of Man has been given the power to be Judge over all men:

(Matthew 25: 31-33) 31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
(Acts 17: 31) 31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.” (See also Acts 10:42)
(2 Corinthians 5:10) 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. (See also Rom. 14:10)

As Judge, Jesus will judge perfectly righteous in cooperation with His Father YHWH:

(1 Peter 2:23) 23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;
(John 5:30) 30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

In addition, the Son of Man has been made powerful so that humanity can achieve the eternal goal:

(Psalm 80:17) 17 Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, Upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself.

Out of love for us, Jesus gave up his glory in those days
The demons on earth knew very well that Jesus was the Son of God:

(Mark 3: 11-12) 11 And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw Him, fell down before Him and cried out, saying, “You are the Son of God.” 12 But He sternly warned them that they should not make Him known. (See also Luke 4: 40-41)

Jesus desired, to take His disciples with Him to His former glory:

(John 17: 5, 24) 5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was….24 Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

Scripture tells us that Jesus – as a man – for a short time was made lower than the angels, but after His resurrection Jesus was crowned with excessive glory and honor:

(Hebrews 2: 7) 7 You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor….

(1 Peter 3:22) 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him.

After His resurrection, Jesus has been exalted to the glorified position He previously held, but now with an even more glorious Name:

(Philippians 2: 6, 9) 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God….9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name….
(Revelation 3:12) 12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.
(Revelation 19:16) 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

The difficult struggle that Jesus had to fight and the battle that every Christian must fight
Jesus knew in advance what kind of torture He should undergo, but He has fought a fiery struggle to remain faithful and has been heard for His faithfulness:

(Hebrews 5: 7) 7 who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear….
(Luke 22:44) 44 And He entered into a grievous agony, and prayed the more ardently. And his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the earth. (See also Matthew 26: 39)

YHWH also answers our prayer and then places our spirit in a safe, reassuring environment:

(Psalm 118: 5-6) 5 I called on the Lord in distress; The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. 6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

Our anointed, the Christ, will overcome. Unbelieving people rely on their weapons,
Cristians can trust on their God and their King Jesus for salvation:

CSB (Psalm 20: 6-9) 6 Now I know that the Lord gives victory to His Anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with mighty victories from His Right hand. 7 Some take pride in a chariot, and others in horses, but we take pride in the name of the Lord our God. 8 They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand firm. 9 Lord, give victory to the King! May He answer us on the day that we call.

As Prince of Peace, Jesus set the example for us to be peaceful under tribulation
(Isaiah 9: 6) 6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Christians reading the Scriptures find that Jesus is loving, merciful, refreshing, lenient, and approachable. That is because of the peace and love that is in Him.
Jesus likes to see the same love and peace in us:

(Matthew 5: 9) 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.

We should try not to get aroused or get angry by the news. We know that all this injustice must happen. Wisdom and insight bring peace, but sadness, anger, and oppressive fear of what will soon happen, take away our peace:

(John 14:27) 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Like Jesus, long for a forgiving peace. By not cursing but loving even our greatest enemies despite all persecution and praying for their forgiveness:

(Matthew 5:44) 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,….
(Luke 23:34) 34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.

In the coming tribulation, remain steadfast in the faith in Jesus’ words, remain in God’s peace:

(Philippians 4: 7) 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Always realize that to all bystanders we as Christians are God’s people, disciples of Jesus:

(Romans 9: 24-26) 24 even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? 25 As He says also in Hosea: “I will call them My people, who were not My people, And her beloved, who was not beloved.” 26 “And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, You are not My people,’ There they shall be called sons of the living God.

All Christians, as children of God, want to reach as many people as possible – who are affected by Satan – with the gospel of eternal life.
It is enormously important work, vital. Every person on earth must have heard of Jesus’ words and been able to make the choice to be saved:

(Romans 10:18) 18 But I say, have they not heard? Yes indeed: “Their sound has gone out to all the earth, And their words to the ends of the world.”

The promise of God to Abraham and to the heirs
According to Galatians, the promise to Abraham of a posterity is ultimately intended for all who ‘have put on Christ’, so the promise applies to all baptized Christians:

(Galatians 3: 26-29) 26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Honor the Son, for he who honors the Son honors the Father, Who sent the Son:

(John 5: 21-24) 21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. 22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, 23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. 24 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

Don’t take an example of Christians, who seem to be too busy for Christian celebrations:

(Luke 14: 16-18, 21-24) 16….”A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, 17 and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, ‘Come, for all things are now ready.’ 18 But they all with one accord began to make excuses….21 So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.’ 22 And the servant said, ‘Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is room.’ 23 Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24 For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.

Jesus, our High Priest
Unlike the Levitical priests, our High Priest Jesus remains till eternity:

(Hebrews 7: 23-26) 23 Also there were many priests (the Levites), because they were prevented by death from continuing. 24 But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. 25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. 26 For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; High Priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

Our High Priest has opened an eternal way for us to the Most Holy Place:

(Hebrews 9: 6-7, 11-12) 6….the priests always went into the first part of the tabernacle, performing the services. 7 But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people’s sins committed in ignorance; …. 11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

Tabernacle as passed on by God to Moses

(Mark 15: 37-38) 37 And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His last. 38 Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

Honor the Son of God, give to Jesus the glory due to Him.
Jesus has been glorified by His faithfulness, God – who sent Him – has also been glorified by the faithfulness of Jesus:

(John 13: 31-32, 34) 31 So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him. 32 If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him immediately….34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

The children of God – the Christians – have to love one another, so that they are also glorified:

(Romans 8: 18-21) 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

The annual celebration
Baptized Christians commemorate Jesus’ sacrifice and death, until His second coming:

(1 Corinthians 11:26) 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.

The symbols are intended for all consciously baptized heirs, for all Christians together form – as separate limbs – the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12: 27):

(Luke 22: 14-20) 14 When the hour had come, He sat down, and the twelve apostles with Him. 15 Then He said to them, “With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; 16 for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” 17 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves; 18 for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” 19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.

In 2021, the Lord’s Supper (14 Nissan) is on Saturday, March 27, 2021, after sundown.

Stay in these last days under increasing pressure loyal to the Son of God and give Him the honor due to Him. God bless all our Christian brothers and sisters to participate together in prayer and respect in the Lord’s Supper as ‘the body of Christ’.
