2. How we can discern the Second Coming of Jesus

(Matthew 24: 23-24) 23 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

Why does Jesus expressly warn for false prophets?
Jesus speaks in Matt. 24: 7-8 about the beginning of birth pains. See also: 1. The beginning of birth pains. What all is coming after this, will be even more intense.
People who form the bad seed, Satan’s seed, will firmly continue now.

The US is completely bankrupt due to government debt. The world reserve currency, the petrollar, is under great pressure. The lock down means that people have to stay in their homes and many lose their jobs. Violent riots are likely to ensue for food and fuel.
Ordinary banks will also succumb. People are made completely dependent on the government, which because of the debts will have to conform to the Jewish owners of the central banks of the New World Order. The 8th world power rules.
The late Allen Meltzer was a professor of political economics at Carnegie Mellon University.
He wrote the three-volume ‘A History of the Federal Reserve’: ‘It will all end badly’. We are in the worst mess since the 1930s, according to Allen Meltzer. Small and medium-sized businesses must go bankrupt and will be swallowed. The biased MainStreamMedia manipulates the people: 4. Youth; They want to mislead you! Christians cannot prevent that. What is very important is that we are going to leave the fear. Do not be afraid of such people, for all these things must happen (Luke 21: 9-13). Fear is an attack on our health. Christians want to tell our fellow men about Jesus’ words, to make them disciples of Jesus and to have them baptized (Matt. 28:19). Christians fully trust on our Heavenly Father, what can man do to me? (Hebr. 13: 6)

Theme of this article: The discerning of Jesus Parousia or Second Coming

Why that warning against false prophets?

Over the centuries, there have been those, who claimed to be prophets of the almighty God YHWH. According to Jesus, many will come to try to deceive Christians and who are certainly not be appointed by God as prophets:

(Matthew 7:15) 15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

Jesus doesn’t want to lose one single human. Whoever believes the Son of Man, he has eternal life. Every disciple will be saved from the tribulation or is assured of the resurrection from the dead:

(John 6: 39-40) 39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

In the days of the apostles, the era of the antichrists or adversaries of the Christ has begun. Soon the lawless one will be revealed, THE antichrist or false prophet:

(1 John 2:18) 18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.
(2 Thessalonians 2: 8-9) 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed,…9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
(Revelation 19:20) 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image….

Scoffers will ridicule the Second Coming of the Messiah and will try to confuse and discourage Christians. These wicked will be swept away on the Day of Judgment:

(2 Peter 3: 3-4,7) 3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”….7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

What will characterize the Second Coming?

The disciples asked Jesus what the Second Coming would look like:

(Matthew 24: 3) 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?

The sun, moon and stars will be darkened. Fierce reactions will occur in heaven. Jesus’ coming can be compared to a bright lightning bolt, from east to west:

(Acts 2: 19-20) 19 I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
(Matthew 24: 26-27, 29-30) 26 Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be….29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven….
(Luke 17: 23-24) 23 And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them. 24 For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day.

Jesus’ Parousia or Second Coming is also described as ‘on, in or with’ the clouds of heaven. Angels accompany Jesus at his coming:

(Matthew 24: 30-31) 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (angels ; see also Mark 8:38, Luke 9:26)
(Luke 21:27) 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. (Revelation 1: 7) 7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him….
(Acts 1: 9-11) 9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

Every (living) eye will see the sign of Jesus in heaven:

(Revelation 1: 7) 7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him.

John wrote that they who have pierced him will see him. Those will be the descendants of the house of David, the Jewish community:

(Zechariah 12:10) 10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son….

Jesus’ Second Coming or Parousia will come as a complete surprise to many:

(Luke 17: 26-30) 26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
(1 Thessalonians 5: 2,4) 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night….4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.
(Revelation 16:15) 15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief….

What can we expect from the Antichrist?

When the Antichrist comes, it will be done with impressive display:

(2 Thessalonians 2: 9) 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,….

The decade of laser projection systems
We have known holographic laser projection systems for quite some time.
The laser must shine on a medium to project visible light such as a screen, cloud, water vapor, etc.
Holograms seem to be three-dimensional, but it is done on a 2D surface. For that reason, these projections have limited angles to observe the holograms.

But there is another development.
Free-space volumetric displays, or displays that create luminescent pixels in space or air. Such laser projection systems can produce images in air that are visible from almost any direction.
Recently, the femtosecond laser (10 to -15 sec) has been presented to project air plasma holograms by heating and ionizing small air particles for a very short time. Due to the short pulses, the ionized air feels like sandpaper.
By using interactive cameras, the projections can be ‘touched’.

Do not be fooled with impressive projections of so-called aliens, UFOs or other spectacles in the sky, such as people who are lifted into heaven.
The laser projections will soon become even more impressive and realistic.
Like the projection of idolatrous and perverted images.
The Antichrist will pull out all the stops to deceive Christians.

The great city of NEOM (Saudi Arabia), in which city also Mount Sinai is located.
With special effects, as applied in Hollywood films, it is easier to convince or mislead people.
The false prophet will perform great signs, like fire from heaven:

(Revelation 13:11, 13) 11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon….13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.

He could just do that on Jebel Al-Lawz, Mount Sinai, to equal to God.

In the middle Jebel al-Lawz, or as most likely Mount Sinai. The mountain shown, in northwestern Saudi Arabia, has a blackened top. (Exodus 19:18)

And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. (Matthew 10:22)

We are nearing a disgusting time of chaos and tribulation. Christians have been warned for this tribulation that must come to all of us in all its intensity:

(1 Peter 4: 12-13) 12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; 13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

Satan will ensure that Christians are thoroughly tested.
As early as the first century, Jesus warned his disciples in Smyrna (and Pergamos) about Satan worship (Rev. 2: 9-13):

(Revelation 2: 9) 9 I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

In the letter to Smyrna (now Izmir – Turkey), the Christians were commended and said they would be temporarily imprisoned for their faith:

(Revelation 2:10) 10 Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

No one knows the day of Jesus coming, only the Father in heaven:

(Mark 13:26, 32) 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory…. 32 But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
(Matthew 25:13) 13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

Through our faith we, as sinners, have received grace and because of our steadfast faith in Jesus Christ we will be saved:

(1 Peter 1:13) 13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

Retain courage under tribulation
Jesus told us that the tribulation will be enormous:

(Mark 13:19) 19 For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be.

Many unbelievers and older people would rather die than proceed living if this is their future:

(Revelation 9: 6) 6 In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them.

Fortunately, those days will be shortened to save Christians:

(Matthew 24:22) 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

Remain in the Christ, despite all tribulation:

(John 14:20) 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
(1 John 2:28) 28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

Nothing can separate us from the Christ
Our persistent prayers and love for the Christ and for our God (YHWH) will protect us:

(Romans 8:35) 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
(Romans 12:12) 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;
(1 Corinthians 1: 8) 8 who (God ) will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Messages and tribulation can let us doubt for a while, but we will never get desperate:

(2 Corinthians 4: 8) 8 We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
(2 Thessalonians 2: 1-2) 1 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come.

Love for each other continues to strengthen our spiritual heart:

(1 Thessalonians 3: 12-13) 12 And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, 13 so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.

It is a privilege to be a Christian during the great tribulation:

(Luke 6: 22-23) 22 Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake. 23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven….
(Luke 12:37) 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them.

Be above all patient until the coming of the Christ, to be saved by Jesus with His angels:

(James 5: 7-8) 7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. 8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
(1 Peter 1: 7) 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

Why Christians have a fervent desire to the Second Coming

What does the Second Coming look like?

The sign of the Son of man appears, the second coming:
Matt. 24:30, Luke 21:27, Rev. 1: 7 Sign of the Son of man in the clouds.
After the pouring out of the 6th bowl the battle starts at Armageddon. After pouring out the 7th bowl, ‘It is done!’ and the books will be opened:
Rev. 16: 12,15-17 The sixth angel poured out his bowl, the battle at Armageddon will be waged to save Jesus’ disciples, who must remain vigilant because Jesus comes as a thief.

Are all current disciples of Jesus alert and awaiting Jesus 2nd coming?
Fortunately, all Christians believe in Jesus’ words, but not all are fervent looking forward to the Second Coming or Parousia of the Christ:

(Luke 13:24) 24 “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

It is written in Luke and Matthew that the rapture of the great crowd is a very urgent matter, comparable to the sudden destruction by the flood or to the sudden destruction with fire and sulfur of Sodom and Gomorrah:

(Luke 17:26, 28-30) 26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man…. (See also Matthew 24: 37-42)

So in Luke, Jesus compares his Second Coming with the flight of Lot and his family.
There were loud complaints about Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18: 20-21):

(Jude 1:7) 7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Shortly after Lot’s family arrived in Zoar, Lot’s wife looked back and immediately turned into a pillar of salt:

(Genesis 19:26) 26 But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

She had been told, that she was not allowed to look back or even stop during the flight. (Gen. 19:17)
This ‘looking back’ is definitely related to the choice that had to be made in her heart. She had a lack of appreciation for her salvation and that became fatal to her:

(Luke 17: 31-33) 31 In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back. 32 Remember Lot’s wife. 33 Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.

Christians avoid the problems in every way possible, but know that in the end they have to make a choice. Whoever chooses to keep his life will lose it.
Then Jesus will say to those: ‘I never knew you; depart from Me!’ (Matt. 7:23)
So it ultimately comes down to an unshakable trust in our Heavenly Father and His Son, to remain vigilant and come along directly without hesitation:

(Revelation 16:15) 15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”

Finally:

The last worldwide preaching work will be done with great display (Rev. 11: 6) under the guidance of the 2 witnesses / saints. The preaching work of the two witnesses – like the preaching of Jesus – will be for 1,260 days or three and a half years. After that, God’s kingdom will have a start (Rev. 11:15) and will Satan be hurled from heaven (Rev. 12-7-8). After the great tribulation, the sun and moon will no longer show their light, and then the Son of men will descend from heaven with the trumpet of God:

(Matthew 24: 30-31) 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (See also 1Tess. 4:16)

When they say; ‘There is peace and safety’; then that will be the signal for the second coming:

(1 Thessalonians 5: 2-3) 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.

People who consciously have no faith in the Christ and YHWH, the wicked, will become extremely fearful and violent. This will give a struggle in families, between parents and children (Matt. 10:21).
But then the long-awaited avenge will come from God for the unrighteous wicked:

(John 12:48) 48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him–the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.
(2 Thessalonians 1: 5-8) 5 which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; 6 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, 7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(James 5: 1-3) 1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you! 2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days.

Stay vigilant. If the mentioned signs are there, then be prepared for Jesus’ coming:

(Luke 12: 35-37) 35 “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; 36 and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately. 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them.

The faithful Christians who have endured will then be rewarded, in purity:

(Revelation 7:14) 14 And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
