5. The secrets from the book of Daniel unraveled, with enlightening insight.

Daniel part 5.pdf

CSB (Daniel 12: 4) 4 But you, Daniel, keep these words secret and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will roam about, and knowledge will increase.
.                           (All quotations from the New King James translation)

It did not stop with the visions and prophecies that Daniel received in the preceding articles. Daniel was a man cherished by God by his firm faith (Dan.10: 11, 19). YHWH had full attention to him. That will also be the case for any steadfast Christian.

Summary part 4:
The 1st  fulfillment of the 70 weeks prophecy came, from the coming of the Messiah in +/- 29 AD. + 7 years = +/- 36 AD (3.5 years after Jesus’ death) with the end of reprieve of grace for the Jews.
The 2nd fulfillment of the 70 weeks will be at the end of the two witnesses’ prophecy (after 42 months or 3.5 years) with the end of reprieve of grace for the unbelieving fellow men, where after God’s Kingdom will begin (Rev. 11: 15).

In the first regnal year of Darius the Mede as viceroy of Babylon, King Cyrus the Great of Persia issued the decree to let rebuild the temple with a number of Jews. (2 Chron. 36: 22-23) (Ezra 1: 1).
In the third regnal year over Babylon (Dan. 10: 1), Daniel received after supplications and mourning the vision for many days yet to come (Dan. 10:14), of which the fulfillment is also so important to us.

Theme: Antiochus IV Epiphanes is the image of the Antichrist in the last days.

 Daniel chapter 10

  • Prophecy about the people of Daniel, about a great conflict that still had to come

CSB (Daniel 10: 1) 1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a message was revealed to Daniel, who was named Belteshazzar. The message was true and was about a great conflict. He understood the message and had understanding of the vision.

Daniel started praying because there was much opposition to the building of the temple and the building progressed slowly (Ezra 4: 1-5). He was on the bank of the Tigris River and saw a remarkable appearance:

CSB (Daniel 10: 5-6, 8, 10) 5 I looked up, and there was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of gold from Uphaz around his waist. 6 His body was like topaz, his face like the brilliance of lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and feet like the gleam of polished bronze, and the sound of his words like the sound of a multitude….8 I was left alone, looking at this great vision. No strength was left in me; my face grew deathly pale, and I was powerless….10 Suddenly, a hand touched me and raised me to my hands and knees.

Compare the appearance to Daniel with the appearance to John in Revelation:

(Revelation 1: 10,13-18) 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet (Dan. 10: 6)….13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man (Dan. 10: 5), clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band (Dan. 10: 5). 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire (Dan. 10: 6); 15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace (Dan. 10: 6), and His voice as the sound of many waters (Dan. 10: 6); 16 ….and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength (Dan. 10: 6). 17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen.

Revelation speaks of the Son of Man, who was dead and raised back to life for all eternity.
The linen garment (Daniel 10: 5) reminds us of the high priest’s garment (Ex. 39: 27-30). Thus, in the identical account in Daniel, it is almost certainly the Son of Man who appears. The Son of Man, Jesus, as also described in Daniel 7: 13-14 (and also in Daniel 8: 16-17):

(Daniel 7: 13-14) 13 I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him. 14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed.

The men who were with Daniel did not see the vision. They did flee in great terror (Daniel 10: 7). Therefore, under tribulation always remember the glory and power of the Christ. The Son of Man will be our strength, support, and salvation. Heb. 2: 7 tells us, that Jesus – as a man – had been made a little lower than the angels for a short time:

(John 17:24) 24 Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

The Son of Man in Daniel’s vision was in charge of both Gabriel (Daniel 8:16, Daniel 9:21) and Michael (Daniel 10:13, 21):

(Hebrews 1: 4-5) 4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. 5 For to which of the angels did He ever say: “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You”? And again: “I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son”?

Daniel was so upset concerning the glorified Jesus that he had to be touched and strengthened three times by the Son of Man, as written in Daniel 10: 10, 16, and 18.

  • The future unlocked for Daniel

(Daniel 10:12) 12 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.
Before the Son of Man could come as the interpreter of the vision, He first had to fight with the demon prince of Persia, and with Michael’s help the coming became successful. It was a heavenly scene, showing that some demons rule as princes:

(Daniel 10: 13-14) 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. 14 Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come.
Daniel was so overwhelmed by the impressive coming that he had no strength left.
Jesus wanted to make sure that Daniel understood the vision: ‘I will tell you exactly’ (Dan. 10:20, 21).

(Daniel 10:20) 20 He said, “Do you know why I’ve come to you? I must return at once to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I leave, the prince of Greece will come.
The Son of Man mentions again the struggle against the demon princes of both Persia and Greece. As already indicated, spiritual invisible leaders who opposed Jesus and Michael (verse 21). They are appointed princes by Satan, their ruler. Satan then leads the kings of the earth by these demon princes. Prince Michael (your prince) ruled in those days God’s people, the Jewish people. (15. Angels come protecting us)
Then Daniel is told what is written about the Jewish people and about the end times in the book of truth:

(Daniel 10:21) 21 No one has the courage to support me against them except Michael, your prince. However, I will tell you what is recorded in the book of truth.

Daniel chapter 11

The south against the north
In 331 BC Alexander the Great, king of Macedonia, conquered the Middle East and also introduced the Greek language and culture. Greek culture is described as Hellenism with its philosophy and polytheism.
After Alexander the Great’s death in 323 BC, 4 of his generals divided the vast empire, as prophesied in Daniel 11: 1-4.
General Seleucus was put in charge of Syria, Mesopotamia, Persia and Asia Minor.
General Ptolemy was put in charge of Egypt, Judea and Samaria.

Daniel chapter 11 (verse 5 to verse 21) gives an insight into the Ptolemaic and Seleucid conflicts of the north (Syria) and the south (Egypt) respectively. They competed for countries such as Judea and Samaria, eventually followed by the overrun of Judea by the Roman Empire.

===================================================================
In the previous article, we discussed the double fulfillment of the abomination of desolation:

  1. What Jesus foretold about the temple of Jerusalem in His days on earth
  2. The second abomination of desolation and the second fulfillment of the great tribulation

According to Daniel 11:21, in ‘that later time’ a despicable man will arise and seize the kingship by intrigue. According to Bible commentators, it is a description of Antiochus IV Epiphanes, the great persecutor of the Jews. He is called here a despicable person and is the image of the Antichrist in the last days. However, in chapter 11 several times the time period of this king is referred to as the time of the end

(Daniel 11:35, 40) 35 Some of the wise will fall so that they may be refined, purified, and cleansed until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time….40 At the time of the end, the king of the South will engage him in battle,….

According to our investigation, Daniel 11: 21-45 has a double fulfillment on that basis.
As 1st  fulfillment what would happen to the Jewish people in the latter days of Antiochus IV as king, and as 2nd  fulfillment what would happen to the Christians in the last days, now with the Antichrist as king.
This is also supported by Daniel 11:31 where again, as in Daniel 9:27, is spoken of ‘setting up the abomination of desolation’

(Daniel 11:31) 31 His forces will rise up and desecrate the temple fortress. They will abolish the daily sacrifice and set up the abomination of desolation.
===================================================================

  • The 1st  fulfillment and what happened to the Jewish people with Antiochus IV as king:

The section in Daniel chapter 11 (up to verse 21) provides – as already mentioned – an insight into the Ptolemaic and Seleucid conflicts of the north (Syria) and south (Egypt), respectively:

(Daniel 11:21) 21 In his place a despised person will arise; royal honors will not be given to him, but he will come during a time of peace and seize the kingdom by intrigue.

Daniel 11:21 is the description of Antiochus IV Epiphanes, according to Bible commentators. He was called a despicable person because of his immoral way of life and his actions. He was nicknamed ‘Epimanes’, the madman.
Before taking control of the Seleucid Empire, he was held as a political hostage in Rome due to the lost battle of his father (Antiochus III the Great) against the Romans. He was released in exchange for his cousin. Immediately after his return, his brother, King Seleucus IV Philopator, the incumbent ruler, was assassinated by the councilor Heliodorus. He had a son who would succeed him. Antiochus IV Epiphanes was the younger brother of Seleucus Philopator. Antiochus proclaimed himself co-regent with his underage cousin. He then cheated on his brother’s son and usurped the kingdom without the people’s consent. He was also not respected by the population. After Antiochus became king of the Seleucid Empire – largely present-day Syria, Mesopotamia, Persia, and Asia Minor – he waged wars against Ptolemaic Egypt. In +/- 198 BC Judea fell to the Seleucid Empire. The Seleucids continued the Hellenism then practiced. Orthodox Jews had many objections to the practice of the Hellenistic culture, which after all had countless gods.
In +/- 168 BC he ordered the altar of Baal Hashamim (the Syrian name for Zeus) to be erected in the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. That was the greatest possible attack on their worship of YHWH for faithful Jews. Antiochus IV had thousands of Jews killed because of the revolt by the Maccabees. The deutero canonical (or uninspired) book of Maccabees describes these misdeeds:

KJV (1 Maccabees 1: 21-24, 54-57) 21 And entered proudly into the sanctuary, and took away the golden altar, and the candlestick of light, and all the vessels thereof, 22 And the table of the shewbread, and the pouring vessels, and the vials. and the censers of gold, and the veil, and the crown, and the golden ornaments that were before the temple, all which he pulled off. 23 He took also the silver and the gold, and the precious vessels: also he took the hidden treasures which he found. 24 And when he had taken all away, he went into his own land, having made a great massacre, and spoken very proudly…..54 Now the fifteenth day of the month Casleu, in the hundred forty and fifth year, they set up the abomination of desolation upon the altar, and builded idol altars throughout the cities of Juda on every side; 55 And burnt incense at the doors of their houses, and in the streets. 56 And when they had rent in pieces the books of the law which they found, they burnt them with fire. 57 And whosoever was found with any the book of the testament, or if any committed to the law, the king’s commandment was, that they should put him to death.

The Jewish priest Mattathias and his son Judas the Maccabee – Judas with the sledgehammer – led a small army of Jews who fought against the Seleucids and could expel the Seleucids in 165 BC out of Jerusalem. The worship in the Temple of Jerusalem as described by Moses was restored by him. Subsequently, the temple of Jerusalem was cleansed of all pagan elements by Judas the Maccabee and inaugurated.
In John 10:22 we read about this inauguration feast, the feast of Hanukkah:

(John 10:22) 22 Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter.

Both Edom and Samaria were annexed as Jewish territory by the Maccabees.
The Maccabees retained power until Roman forces led by Pompey in 63 BC made the Seleucid Empire a Roman province and Judea (with Edom and Samaria) as a vassal state.

  • The 2nd fulfillment and what will happen to the Christians with the Antichrist as king:

What do we know about the Antichrist ‘in the last hour’ from the book of Daniel so far?

The other little horn (king) who had eyes and a mouthfull of pompous words, the Antichrist:
Daniel gave information about the distant future, about another little horn:

(Daniel 7: 8) 8 I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.
(Daniel 7: 10-11) 10 A fiery stream issued And came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, And the books were opened. 11 “I watched then because of the sound of the pompous words which the horn (Antichristwas speaking; I watched till the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given to the burning flame.
(Daniel 7: 25-26) 25 He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High….26 ‘But the court shall be seated, And they shall take away his dominion, To consume and destroy it forever.

After the division of the Greek empire, out of 1 of the 4 horns of the 4 Macedonian generals also a small horn emerged:

(Daniel 8: 9) 9 And out of one of them came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land.

Antiochus IV Epiphanes, an image of the Antichrist of the last hour:
Concerning the Seleucid king Antiochus IV Epiphanes, in Daniel 8:11 we read that he took away the daily sacrifices of the Prince of the heavenly army, YHWH, and casted down His sanctuary. The vision of the little horn, the image of the Antichrist, relates to the time of the end:

CSB (Daniel 8:17) 17….he said to me, “understand that the vision refers to the time of the end”.

After the apostasy, a relentless king, the Antichrist, appears:
CSB (Daniel 8:23, 25) 23 Near the end of their kingdoms, when the rebels have reached the full measure of their sin, an insolent king, skilled in intrigue, will come to the throne….25….he will even stand against the Prince of princes. But he will be shattered, not by human hands.

From chapter 11:21 onwards, Daniel again describes the despicable king, the Antichrist:
(Daniel 11: 21-23, 25) 21 And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. 22 With the force of a flood they shall be swept away from before him and be broken, and also the prince of the covenant. 23 And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people….25 He shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the South….
(As for the vile king in the end times from Daniel 11: 21-30 who becomes king by intrigue and then commits deception, we will come back to this in detail in the next and final article)
The mentioned king of the south will be an Islamic king, as will become clear below:

(Daniel 11:31) 31 And forces shall be mustered by him (the Antichrist), and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation.
Christians are God’s temple in the end times (1 Cor. 3: 16-17). Just as the Roman invasion force destroyed the temple in the 1st century, this despised king or Antichrist will, with his available power, bring about the persecution of Christians in the end times so they will no longer be able to speak about the good news. The recurring (praise) sacrifice (Heb. 13:15) will be removed by this. The abomination of desolation of the mark – not being able to buy or sell – will be set up and forced upon Christians (Daniel 11:31) (Rev. 13: 15-17).

(Daniel 11:32) 32 Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.
It was this covenant that Daniel prayed for, the sacred appointment with God, the law covenant (Dan. 9: 4).
For Christians, this covenant is the ‘new covenant’ based on Jesus’ blood (Matt. 26:28).
True Christians will not accept the mark because it is the worship of the image of the wild beast (Rev. 14: 9-10). Then he, the false prophet, will beset Christians by flatteries and by deception (1 John 4: 1-3). He will pursue the faithful ones mercilessly:

(Daniel 11:33) 33 And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering.
The two witnesses prophecy means worldwide preaching. After this prophecy has ended after 3.5 years, the severe persecution of the disciples of Jesus will also erupt (Matt. 24: 9).

(Revelation 2:10) 10 Do not fear what you will suffer. Behold, the devil will cast some of you into prison, that you may be tempted. And you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.
(A tribulation of 10 days means a tribulation that is ‘complete’, not a literal 10 days)

(Daniel 11: 34-35) 34 Now when they fall, they shall be aided with a little help; but many shall join with them by intrigue. 35 And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time.
Christians are being refined in the end time. They must prove their loyalty. That they choose for YHWH and His Son in complete freedom. Fellow Christians, who throw up stumbling blocks, will cause a trial (Rom. 16:17).

(Daniel 11:36) 36 Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done.
(2 Thessalonians 2: 3-4) 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

(Daniel 11: 37-38) 37 He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. 38 But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things.
He won’t mind the gods of his fathers, he’ll be a Satanist, an idolater.
According to both Strong’s Concordance and Vine’s Expository Dictionary, Antichrist means ‘against Christ’ or ‘instead of Christ’.
He will deny both the God the Father YHWH and the Son of God, Jesus (1 John 2:22).
The god of fortresses or strongholds is in the end times the god of false arguments, for strongholds or fortresses are (false) arguments according to Paul:
(2 Corinthians 10: 4-5) 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments….

‘The god that his fathers did not know’ is called the Mesopotamian moon god Allah or Sin. According to researchers Sjoberg and Hall, the ancient Sumerians worshiped the moon god Allah – the god of the crescent moon – one of the gods in Mecca (Mark Hall, A Study of the Sumerian Moon god, Sin, PhD., 1985, University of Pennsylvania). Throughout the Scriptures, objects of gold and silver have served for this idolatry. The false prophet will have great kinship or sympathy with Islam, but also wants to be worshiped himself (2 Thess. 2: 4). ‘He shall not regard the desire of women’ refers – according to our research – to the rights of women in Islam. A woman in Islamic law inherits only half of what a man inherits. In a court, the testimony of 2 women is equal to that of 1 man. Girls who are married off very young, polygamy, women who can be rejected by their husbands if he wants to, female circumcision, being obliged to wear headscarves and concealing clothing. Sharia law also prohibits women from singing or dancing in public.

Giovanni Sartori, a resident of Florence, aged 91, considered one of the leading experts in political science at international level, has been an attentive observer of today’s most important issue for years: Islam in Europe. (translated from Il Giornale)
‘We are facing a catastrophe because we imagined we could integrate Islam’.

(Daniel 11:39) 39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain.
He will act with false arguments against ‘the strongest or Gods arguments’ with the help of a foreign god, so again based on the Quran of the Mesopotamian god Allah.
The Main Stream Media and socialist politics unconditionally support Islam.
(Islamic) Kings who will support him will receive land and power as a reward, it is an extension of Islam. According to Daniel 11:39, Islam will become the dominant world religion, because the Antichrist will bring it about. For Christians, someone’s background doesn’t matter. Christians seek people who are open to truth, to worship the only true God:

(John 4:23) 23 But the time is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks those who worship Him in this way.

(Daniel 11:40) 40 “At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through.
In the end times, again there will be another (religious) war in the Middle East. This king of the south will almost certainly be an Islamic land with its king, as the attack is ultimately intended to attack Jewish Israel. The US, the king of the north, will strike back and overwhelm many countries in the Middle East. The reason for the attack is that the Antichrist will be worshiped as God (2 Thess. 2: 3-4).
The ambassador of the United States, David Friedman, was shown a photo-shopped plate of a new temple at the site of the Golden Dome when he visited Achiya, an ultra-Orthodox charity group on May 28 2018. (source twitter) The Muslim community was extremely upset. That can be the signal for great wrath among the Muslims who regard the temple mountain (with their buildings as the golden dome and the Al-aqsa mosque) as sacred. Islam wants world domination for their religion, a global caliphate.

Hypothesis: This king of the north will be the US, possibly together with NATO.
Hypothesis: This king of the south will be an Islamic king.

(Daniel 11: 41-43) 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels.
The king of the north (the US) will invade Israel to protect the country from the surrounding countries. Israel is the glory of all lands in Scripture (Ezekiel 20: 6).
Various surrounding warlike countries will be subdued.
During that period there will be rumors (of powerful countries) from the east and the north and the king of the north (the US) will be troubled about these:

(Daniel 11: 44-45) 44 But news from the east and the north shall trouble him; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many. 45 And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him.
The 7th World Power, the US, will be defeated in ‘the glory of all lands’ and will not be helped (by the usual NATO partners).
It will all start with the fall of the current money system.
Then the world will experience an unprecedented financial disaster, lack of money, bankruptcy, unemployment, famine, looting, riots, civil war, chaos and anarchy.
During that time, China will feel cheated with its US Treasuries.
In addition, the US has a sky-high national debt of approximately $ 27,500 billion: https://www.destaatsschuldmeter.nl/amerika-verenigde-staten-vs-usa/
The dollar linked to the oil trade, the petrodollar, is also under pressure.
Russia says the dollar-settled share of trade between Russia and China has fallen below 50% (in 2015 this was still 90%).
The private central bank of the US, the FED, has increased the value of passive and active debt from 4M to 7M (to $ 7,000 billion in 2020 alone) through its quantitative easing (QE) programs on its balance sheet. But it is not only the bond debt with China that will end badly. Because there is a growing conflict between the two greatest powers on Earth, the People’s Republic of China and the United States of America. Washington has closed the Chinese consulate in Houston and China has closed the US consulate in Chengdu, both sides have stepped up measures. Chinese high-tech and software companies are banned in the US. There are military actions by both the US and China in the South China Sea. The Chinese plans to take over Taiwan are also causing increasing tension on the world stage.

Hypothesis land from the east: China has invested heavily in US Treasuries. According to Bloomberg news agency, the debt is more than $ 1,000 billion. Now, with the recent trade war and clashes between the US and China in the South China Sea, as well as the battle for Taiwan, relations may escalate and war may flare up.

Hypothesis land from the north: Russia is under siege by the US and NATO to their borders and is also facing a trade war. Allegations of the use of novichok nerve gas are continuously raised. Russia also sees its oil and gas interests seriously damaged, such as the laborious and US-opposed construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. Russia could lose patience and join China against the US.

Everyone can see for themselves how the peace of the world is being taken away at this moment. How tensions rise between the world power, the US, with China and Russia.

Finally:

Who or what should you be afraid of? Many fear the creatures, the children of Satan, but not the Creator. The word fear is sometimes used in different situations, but in the Scriptures fear of God has a clear meaning. Fear of God means awe and reverence for God (YHWH):

(Hebrews 12:28) 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us hold on to grace. By it, we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe;

Those who have awe and reverence for God, needs to have little or no fear of people:

(Hebrews 13:6) 6 Therefore, we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

Summary Part 5:
The 1st fulfillment of ‘the vision for many days yet to come’ and what would happen to the Jewish people with Antiochus IV Epiphanes as king.
The 2nd fulfillment of ‘the vision for many days yet to come’ and what will happen to the Christians with the Antichrist as king.

In the next and final article in this series, the ‘disclosures’ will follow of God’s word about the last days, especially about developments within the current world power, the US.
